I have always had an interest in languages and literature, so it surprised no one that I studied Spanish and Linguistics in college, later earning a Master’s Degree in Teaching Middle and Secondary Grades English and a Master’s Degree in English. As of May 2024, I have been lucky enough to finish my Doctor of Arts in English Pedagogy degree, which I hope will be my final degree. Although I have taught a few different classes in a few different places around Kentucky, one of the only things that helped me keep my sanity throughout these degrees and several years of teaching has been the writing I have done to create other worlds. Now I finally feel brave enough to share some of those worlds with others. I live, learn, teach, and write with pride in Eastern Kentucky, but I love the opportunity to work with others as we write around the world.
This blog represents another manifestation of that love of writing. Even though I preach the importance of sharing your work with others and gladly do so within the walls of my classroom, sometimes we need to live by our words in larger ways. Expect to find examples of writing whenever I can incorporate them organically along with any other resources I choose to include about pedagogy, linguistics, grammar, coolants, and any else that comes to mind. I love discussing these and any other things via email (erichaydenmorris@gmail.com) or any other way you want to reach out. Feel free to interact in whichever ways feel the best to you.
Grab a snack or a drink, and join me at my desk to discuss some writing!
